The most useful message you can send us is a correction. If a figure on this site is wrong, or a calculator gives an answer that does not match what your own equipment actually does, we want to know. Model railroading has a long institutional memory and a lot of people who have measured these things for themselves, and we would rather be corrected than confidently wrong.
Things worth writing about:
- A number that disagrees with a manufacturer specification or a published NMRA standard.
- A calculator that produced a result you could not reconcile with your own layout.
- A product link that goes somewhere unexpected, or a price that is wildly out of date.
- A question about your own space, scale or track plan that the calculators did not answer.
Telling us your scale and roughly what space you have makes any layout question far easier to answer, which is why there is a field for it below.
If you are a brand or a manufacturer, the partner page is the better route.
We read everything and reply to what we can. We cannot design your track plan for you, and we cannot tell you whether a specific second-hand locomotive is worth the asking price.
